Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
